Dr. Muhammad Akram Khan MD - Heart DoctorDr. Khan has been practicing cardiovascular medicine in McKinney, Texas since 1997. He completed his cardiology fellowship as well as interventional cardiology fellowship at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. He is board certified in cardiovascular medicine as well as interventional cardiology. When he is not fixing broken hearts, Dr. Khan enjoys spending time with his two teenagers and one toddler at home in Frisco. Read more about our cardiologist, Dr. M. Akram Khan.

Ambreen Ashfaque, M.D. came on board with Cardiac Center of Texas in December of 2010 but has been around the clinic since 2003.  She is a graduate of Dow Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan.  She then attended UT Southwestern Medical School where she did her internship and residency.  Dr. Ashfaque sees patients in our clinic as well as performing the vein procedures for Vein Clinic of Texas here in our office.

Cortney grew up in McKinney, and attended Texas A & M University where she gained her Bachelor of Science degree in Community Health. She then went to Physician Assistant school at the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth and graduated in May 2010. She has worked with Dr. Khan in the hospital setting prior to joining the office in May, and they have known each other for almost 10 years now. Cortney has worked in Intensive Care, as well as hospital medicine prior to coming to cardiology full time. Cortney currently resides in McKinney with her husband of 10 years, and her 15 month old son, Braxton. Outside of work she enjoys working out, painting, traveling and spending time with her family.

Imaging Staff

Gayatri Jadhav is the Director of Non-Invasive Cardiovascular Laboratory and the Vascular Ultrasound Specialist for the Vein Clinic of Texas. She has previously worked with a mobile ultrasound company for 4 years as a lead technician, but has had ties with CCTX since 2007 when she first started as an intern here. Gayatri is very passionate about her work and incredibly caring of her patients. Along with quality ultrasound testing she believes that talking to the patients and getting a good history is the key to complete and effective patient care. She has accredited her previous company with ICAEL standards under a great Director and along with an excellent team of technicians and will be actively involved in accrediting newer diagnostic testing areas at CCTX. She is goal oriented and believes that good communication and team work lead to a healthy work environment. On the personal front she enjoys being a wife and a mother, loves spending time with friends and makes fitness a part of her life.

Christina joined Cardiac Center of Texas in 2010 as Director of Radiology. Originally from South Dakota, she joins us with over 16 years of experience performing Nuclear Medicine stress tests and MUGA scans. Christina’s caring and compassionate patient care, combined with her extensive experience in regulatory compliance and accreditation requirements, ensures the patients of Cardiac Center of Texas have a positive experience while receiving the most accurate and complete diagnostic imaging procedures possible. Christina is currently completing her Master’s Degree in Health Physics and is a member of the Society of Nuclear Medicine, North Texas Radiation Response Group, American Society of Nuclear Cardiology, and other professional industry groups. Christina also enjoys long walks on the beach and candle lit dinners.

Lute is our CT Technologist. He has been with the Cardiac Center of Texas since 2009. If you come in for any sort of CT or radiology scans you will meet Lute. Lute’s favorite hobby is tennis, and his coworkers tell us he is excellent at cross-stitching too. Lute denies this.

 

 

Mireya De Los Santos is a recent cardiovascular sonographer graduate from Sanford-Brown College. She joined the non-invasive lab team in July 2012 but has been training here since March 2012. Mireya was previously employed as a registered medical assistant in an internal medicine office. She was employed there for 9 years before deciding to part ways and pursue a new career in sonography. Being very caring and attentive, she strives to build a good rapport with all of her patients. Mireya is bilingual in Spanish which makes her a great asset to CCTX.  She has been married for 14 years and has a 4 year old son. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends and traveling the country.

 

Morgan is our Exercise Physiologist in the Nuclear Stress Lab.  She is a 2012 graduate of Texas A&M University Corpus Christi who joined CCTX after completing a 400 hour internship in our clinic.  Morgan performs the treadmill portion of nuclear stress testing as well as pulmonary function testing and resting metabolic rate testing.  She is always helping in the front and back office when she is available and has won Employee of the Month for her team player attitude.  She lives in McKinney with her family and loves travelling and spending time with friends.

 

Yaser is the newest addition to the Cardiovascular Ultrasound team.  He is a graduate of Sanford Brown College and joined CCTX as an Echo Technologist after completing his internship with us.
